ABOUT CAZA-NARG
The Canada's Accredited Zoos and Aquariums Nutrition Advisory and Research Group (CAZA-NARG) was founded in 2001 by Deborah A.
McWilliams, a wildlife nutritionist.
Deb McWilliams offers consulting services, workshops and training in wildlife nutrition and has worked with zoological institutions internationally.
In addition, Deborah is a nutrition advisor for the CAZA Herpetology TAG and the nutrition advisor for the American Association of Zoos and
Aquariums Rodent, Insectivore and Lagomorph Taxon Advisory Group (AZA-RIL TAG). Deb published the first edition of "Applied Zoo Animal
Nutrition" in 2010 and this book is used by zoological institutions in over seven countries.
OUR MANDATE
CAZA-NARG is a non-profit organization that provides wildlife nutrition and education services. Services are available to member institutions of
CAZA and their employees; to zoological institutions, accredited or nonaccredited; wildlife parks; conservation organizations; educational facilities
and students; and, services are available for feed manufacturers.
CAZA-NARG exists for the dissemination of scientific research and experiential information on animal nutrition to ensure the health and welfare of
captive wildlife. Animal nutrition, as a scientific discipline, incorporates all aspects of nutrition relating to the environment, physiology, health and
reproductive state of an animal.
